Key West State of Mind
I now know why Ernest Hemingway spent most of his days in a bar in Key West. It's too hot to go outside in August!
We had a great time in Key West a few weeks ago. Musician Jared Hobgood needed some performance pictures from a little bar called Irish Kevin's. Ok, for those of you natives you know it's not that little. In fact outside of Hemingway's digs (Sloppy Joe's) Irish Kevin's is the place to be on Duval Street after the sun sets. One of the photos from our shoot will go on the wall of fame next to other performers who have taken this stage.
The bar shoot was a little tricky since the lighting was, well, a bar. Plus I had to dodge cranky bartenders feverishly rounding up concoctions around me! I am pleased with the outcome though.
In addition to the performance photos I shot a few album cover images around Key West.
It was well into the 90's but Jared kept his cool. I really like this one below.
Too much sweat! Time for a wardrobe change!
Jared has been performing in Key West for 12 years. In fact the day I did this shoot was his anniversary. He is definitely an entertaining act. Stop in for a drink and see his show (leave the kids at home due to the adult theme) and you are guaranteed to have a good time.
